Heather has always had a keen interest in arts & crafts and spent a year doing a portfolio class at Aberdeen College of Commerce, then was accepted for a 2 year course in Exhibition Design. She also has a City & Guilds in Beauty Therapy plus Hairdressing, and for a time, ran her own business on Fulham Palace Road, London.
Heather spent time traveling and working in Europe, and on returning to Scotland, was in a position to join the Ullapool team of decorators. Heather came to work at Highland Stoneware in 1997, and has contributed greatly to many of the decoration themes, especially enjoying the floral patterns where she can display her delicate touch and artistry. As well as decorating, Heather has been confidently firing both the bisque and glost kilns in Ullapool for several years.
In her spare time Heather enjoys doing portrait work, and running craft stalls for charities. She is an active member of the community and is part of the busy Ullapool News team. She is also a devoted dog owner, and can often be found out walking Bonnie, her Bedlington Terrier.
